Housewife Herwil Sarino of Cainta, Rizal went home with her biggest smile after becoming the first winner of one hundred thousand peso cash prize from Xtreme Magic Sing's Xtreme Days of Xmas Text Promo.. Sarino bought a song chip for her Xtreme Magic Sing Version 8 in October at SM Appliance Center (SM Megamall) and noticed the sticker with the text code. She registered and sent the code without even expecting that she would actually win. A lady gave me a call and announced that I won the raffle. I didn't believe her right away. "I thought it was one of those text scams", says Sarino. Little did she know that the caller, Dianne Rivera of the Astra Group, wasn't kidding. Sarino said that she only believed when she finally received the notification letter from the Astra Group, exclusive distributor of Xtreme Magic Sing, formally stating that she was the lucky winner of a hundred thousand pesos from the Xmas raffle promo that was done electronically under DTI supervision. I cried! I could hardly believe that I won. I thought that I was so lucky because right now, we are really having a financial crisis. My husband is, in fact, going abroad (Korea) in January of next year so that we could pay our debts. I was very happy and excited and tensed. Sarino showed us goose bumps on her skin while telling us the story. When asked about how she would spend her winnings, she said that parts of it would certainly be allotted for payments of their liabilities. She would give some to her mother, and the rest would be for her kids' education. Sarino has two children, only the eldest is going to school yet and she said that she intends to save the money for her tuition. Xtreme Magic Sing's Xtreme Days of X-mas Text Promo runs until January 31, 2006 nationwide. To join, buyers of Xtreme Magic Sing Videoke Mics, Song Chips, or Duet Mics must look for the sticker with the text code which has a corresponding number of entries. They have to text to register and send the text code to get raffle entries.
